schlo 1° released

schlo 1° is now available for viewing! This will be the sixth game in the schlo series (schlo checkers is excluded in the count). It is the second release for 2022 and its release date aligns with the release date of schlo pink and purple, as well as the demo of Schlo: Final Stand.

This project is something that has been on the list of schlo project development ideas for a while. I wrote a script for a short film in 2019, which was the plot for this game. Since getting back into making games, it was frequently on my mind as something that needed to be created for a more public platform, but it kept getting pushed back. The project got picked up again after the release of schlo checkers in April.

This was the first game I've made since getting a drawing tablet with a display. I think my art has improved quite a bit since my previous releases. I often lacked motivation to work on the art, however, which left it not looking as good as it probably could have. I keep getting my work flow very messed up while working on these projects. I figure it wasn't good to have the story completely done before doing any of the art.

As for technical development, I started creating this project in krita using the animation tools, as I was under the impression that it supported HTML5 exportation and what not. I had to transfer the project over to the prestigious adobe animate to finish it. I really dislike javascript and so the code I was able to find doesn't work quite how I would like it to. I am aware that it can get messed up if you go back a few times and then try to go forward again. Also, the music layers up if you go back and then forward to a frame where the music is supposed to start. Anyways, I asked how to fix my code on stack overflow and no one replied. If you're bothered by my sloppiness and want to help me out, here's my code. I'd like to make more projects like this one, I think, in terms of formatting and being HTML5 and all, assuming I can figure out how to code them better.

I'm all of out goofy ideas for schlo related games and plan on finally getting into the core of the project, which has been alluded to in previous works but not explicitly explored. I'm decently pleased with this project, however, and think it might be my best work yet!
