schlo friends out now!!!

It's April 18th, which means a new schlo project has been released. This project features storylines from a popular situational comedy show along with some of the darkest scenes in the schlo series to date. I've felt conflicted on how on to portray the serious events in this one, as there are some difficult topics in it. Themes that are depicted in these games are not always the most pleasant. The sitcom segments were used to round the project out and include more of the characters who were not featured in the important parts of the story.

I had wanted to make a game involving friends since around the time I was working on schlo pink and purple in 2021. I thought the group of people who I wanted to feature in the games following schlo complications (schlo room explorer and this one) fit the friends characters decently well, compared to some alternatives I had thought of in the past. 

I'm looking to make less gimmicky things these days, but this was a worthy exception. And as far as I know, I'm all out of gimmicky ideas, anyways. I started working on the portraits for this one before starting production of schlo room explorer, which means I started working on this one about 10 months ago. I finished this in February but wanted to postpone the release to April 18th, one of my common release dates. Which means that I have gotten to start working on the next project a bit already.

I think this project is very visually appealing, and might be my best work to date. I had a lot of mental blocks trying to figure out how to tell the story in this one. And working with some scripts that I really didn't like was also challenging.

I really ought to update my website one of these days, but my biggest priority is always game production.
