schlo episode 1: murder is now available for download. The fourth and final schlo project uploaded to itch.io this year!

This project is a remake of the first half of the first schlo visual novel uploaded on here back in 2018: what is schlo? Or rather the first half of what is schlo? was titled "a schlo dating simulation", so it's a remake of that. The script for this remake is practically identical to the original, so it has a bit of a dating sim feel, but there's only one ending.

The idea of remaking the first game, as in redoing the art and music, came to me about a year ago. I wanted to (1) create a board game set in the schlo universe (schlo checkers), (2) make a game out of a script I wrote back in 2019 (schlo 1°) and (3) redo the art for what is schlo?. The main reason for recreating the original schlo game is that I would like to continue working on the story set in Drey's perspective past the events in what is schlo?, but it has been long enough since releasing that game that it felt like it needed a revamping to continue off of.

I've learned a decent amount more about digital art since 2018, which was basically the start of me doing anything serious with art. I've learned more, too, while working on this project. Using a tablet helps a lot, so it is a little mind-boggling to think of how long I went without using one. I got my tablet about a year ago! I used it for schlo checkers, schlo 1° and now schlo episode 1: murder. If you haven't checked out schlo 1° yet, I strongly encourage that you do. It is my best work to this date (I finally have something to recommend besides Schlo: Final Stand (my favorite project I made until schlo 1°!)). I like schlo episode 1: murder a lot too, obviously.
